Post SAT Art Workshop ‘The Sketchbook’
Cheshire based internationally acclaimed Landscape Artist Wendy Connelly will provide an exciting series of workshops that give a rare glimpse into the secrets of being an effective Landscape Artist.
The workshops have been tailored to incorporate the KS2 Art & Design curriculum and the RAW-i philosophy of direct observation, critique and reflection. These key elements are fundamental for life long learning.
The focus of these workshops is to introduce the students to the veracity of effective use of a sketchbook in the development of becoming a competent Artist.
Through a variety of activities students will investigate the immediate landscape and explore and develop their ideas and the ideas of others. The workshop is a mixture of hands on direct observation of the landscape and the discovery of ways to reflect this through individual and group evaluation. The use of critique is a central feature and falls very firmly within the Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills on reflective learners and creative thinkers. These skills are an essential element of any Artist in their continuing development.
